Probably the worst place that I’ve looked for love is at the workplace. You know how that saying goes, “Don’t eat where you shit, and don’t shit where you eat!” Oops! I mean what can I say? I meet a lot of people at work and I get to know them. Especially, at one point I was working 3 jobs in one year while finishing up my bachelor’s degree. I barely had time to meet people outside of work because I was working all the time. It never turns out well. There’s always that awkward-bitterness-tension that floats the air. It’s no good for the soul coming to work every day with that feeling. This time it will be different. No looking for love at work. Can’t do it Justine (reminds self)!
Since I rarely go out and when I do go out to the bars or clubs, it’s never my goal to meet anyone serious there. I’m usually there with family and friends having a good time. Of course I wouldn’t be closed off to meeting new people in those environments, it just hasn’t happened yet. I might have given out a number or 3, but nothing that ever led to a date or the next level (if you know what I mean *wink).
Friends of friends of friends of friends. I have been on a date or 2 that one of my friends begged for me to go on. Only because I wasn’t having any luck so I gave it a try. I just usually don’t date friends, or my friends’ friend. I don’t know, I’m weird like that. Or maybe because I knew they weren’t my type to begin with, but I gave it a shot anyways.
Online dating! I’m like an expert now. Seriously. 1 whole year of Match.com. Yup, I paid for that shit! I met a lot of cool, great, not so great, interesting men on there, and some I still keep in touch with. None of them ever turned into anything more. I’m not paying to find love anymore; I’m hoping to find my true love on a free site. HAHA! You know what I’m saying?
Is there really a best or worse place to find love? No, I don’t think so. He’s out there somewhere… still stuck in a tree! =) *Sigh*
