Husband Fast Day 7

Day 7: Responsibilities of Husband and Wife: Pray you and your future husband will walk fully in the purposes and responsibilities God has ordained for each of you in your future covenant.

Scriptures: Proverbs 31, Ephesians 5:22-33, 1 Peter 3:1-7

I don’t know what it is, but I love to read about the roles and responsibilities of a husband and wife. I want to be that woman of God, that Godly wife and that Godly mother. I love the guidance it provides to live a Holy life for God and the blessings that come forth by obedience in Him.

Father God, I thank You for saving me from the life I had before. I thank You for giving us Your One and Only Son so that we can be forgiven of our sins. Thank You for giving us the choice to live our lives in hopes that we choose Your standards. Father God, I pray that my future husband will walk fully in the purposes and responsibilities you have given him. I pray that everything he is doing is all for Your glory and that it is fitting for the Kingdom and our future covenant. I pray that my future husband is seeking You every day and that he is growing with You. I pray that his desire is to become a man of God, Godly husband, and Godly father. Thank you, Father God! I pray for myself and that I just continue to be hungry and thirsty for You so I can live in the house of the Lord forever! In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly. Colossians 3:18-19

Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. Proverbs‬ ‭31:10-12‬

For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. Ephesians‬ ‭5:25-26

You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands. ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:4-5‬

Activation: Ask God what you bring to the table as a future wife. Ask Him what He’s currently working on in you.

God knows I have a lot to offer as a future wife. I have a lot of good traits! I am financially responsible, I can cook and clean, I am smart, hardworking, loving, nurturing, caring, generous, a servant-heart, I love God, family oriented, fun, funny, traveler, and many more too many to list =) But what I do know, He’s currently working on in me is my communication skills. I tend to keep everything inside or hold back and God’s been giving me a voice to speak out my standards and expectations. I no longer want to compromise my standards when it comes to a potential partner. God is giving me the values, and vision of what I expect from my future husband and whom I have to become as a woman. I will not be settling for anything anymore, so I am communicating things right away and just becoming a better communicator in all areas of my life. Thank you, Jesus!

Husband Fast Day 6

Day 6: Healing from the Past: Pray for complete healing from past relationships and complete severing of any soul ties that need to be broken. Pray no residue of those relationships would enter yours.

Scriptures: Luke 17:3-4, Romans 12:9-21, 1 Peter 5:6-9, Colossians 3:12-17

Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Romans 12:14-18

Father God, you know exactly where I need healing, so I ask you and I’m praying for healing for my future husband and myself to be healed from past relationships and to cease all soul-ties and heart-ties. I pray that no residue of these past relationships will enter into our future marriage. Father God, I pray for those past boyfriends and girlfriends and I bless them; I pray that both parties are healed and that our lives are blessed. I ask for forgiveness for any hurtful words spoken, any sins we committed, or just anything that didn’t honor you, Father God. I pray for 100% healing from any thoughts of the past that still lingers in our hearts and thoughts. Thank you, Father God, for your love, grace, and mercy!

Activation: Ask a married couple for words of wisdom for a healthy marriage!

Ashley Keller‘s words of wisdom for a healthy marriage:
So one of the things I’ve learned from marriage is communicating even when you don’t feel like it. Sometimes I have had to push past how I felt in order to communicate with my husband. It’s not always easy to do but you feel so much better when you do it. But I’ve also learned the more you work on communication the easier it can get. And with being married you have to learn how does my mate communicate? You learn how to say things in a way that they can understand and also receive what you are saying to them. But also remembering to say things in love. Because if we say things in a way that tears our husbands down it doesn’t make them feel good or want to share. But when we say things in love it allows them to want to share and also helps them feel like we care about them by the way we communicate with them. Sometimes you may have to pray before conversations or even ask the Holy Spirit to lead the conversations you guys have so that Jesus will be at the center of the conversations. But communication is not just on us but it’s a two-way thing. And even if you need a moment before you want to say something it’s ok to say “I would like to take some time to myself to think and then come back to the conversation “ but don’t wait too long lol. And while you’re single treat your relationship with the lord as a marriage. Communicate everything thing to Him. And once we learn communication with the Lord we bring it right over into our marriage with our husband. And start praying now that if this is not your strong point that God would help you in this area and also pray in this area for your husband.

Husband Fast Day 5

Day 5: Words of Life: Pray that only life is spoken over you and your future husband, currently and in the future. Pray that you would commit to speaking life in every situation and area of your life. With God, there’s no hopeless situation, let’s always aim to be one’s that come into agreement with it by our words!

I love this scripture. “Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” ‭‭(Proverbs‬ ‭16:24‬) There are lots of scriptures in the Bible that talk about the tongue and that our words have so much life that it can literally be life or death. Before being saved I used to struggle with being negative, complaining, judgemental, gossip and mean all the time. You can tell I was just unhappy back then. What I’ve learned is that our voice and the words we use has so much power and position in our lives and other people’s lives. I’m growing with the help of the Holy Spirit to use uplifting, encouraging, and positive words of life wherever I go.

Father God, I thank you for giving me a voice of power that I can use to uplift, encourage and speak life over myself and others. I pray that my husband is doing the same with his words and that he speaks life and not death over himself and the people around him. Father God, I pray that my future husband and I only speak words of life to each other in our marriage and to our children. I pray that we both speak life around unbelievers so they can see Christ in us! Help us to cut down on foul and abusive language and just help us to honor you by the words we speak. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Activation: Stand in front of the mirror and bless every part of your body you dislike/often complain or self-criticize. Thank God for that particular part of your body!

I actually stood in front of my mirror and thanked and blessed parts of my body that I often complain about and I felt a warmness of perfection of how God made me. I am healthy! I have all my limbs and I don’t struggle anywhere physically (except reaching for things in high places haha jk) and I thanked God for my ability to walk, run, write and just being me. I don’t look like an Instagram model, but I love my body and every imperfection. Thank you, Jesus!

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. Colossians‬ ‭4:5-6‬

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:29-32

Husband Fast Day 4

Day 4: Deliverance from evil and deception: Pray that you and your future husband are not under any deception, big or small in your life and future. Deception can even come in the form of an old wives tale or a saying passed down from a parent in love but is not rooted in Truth (i.e. people will never change). Pray that the Lord would deliver you from evil that has tried to come against you in any form, known and unknown.

The enemy loves to kill, steal and destroy. Soul-ties is what’s on my heart this morning and all they do is kill, steal and destroy what God has for you. I am definitely speaking from experience and especially from recent experience. I am a new Christian and I just got out of my ”first saved Christian relationship.” Before I had met him, I really thought I had it all down and figured out; I didn’t want to be the same girl going into relationships with no purpose, values, vision and definitely without God. But the Spirit is willing and the flesh is weak, so I felt short. We were both saved and loved God but we weren’t honoring God in the relationship because we were sinning. I didn’t have joy, I wasn’t fellowshipping with God, lying to my accountability partners and just in a mess with myself. Now that the relationship is over, I have joy and freedom again because I am obeying God. Even though there’s no condemnation with Christ Jesus, I no longer feel condemnation. But to be honest, the flesh is weak and I still think about him and those fun times we had together. The enemy is really trying to test me because this ex is trying to come back to me, but I know God got me and he won’t leave me astray. All I know is that I want more for my future marriage. I want my marriage to be blessed beyond anything I could have ever imagine and I know what it’s going to take to have that.

Father God, I am praying for deliverance of all soul-ties that the enemy is using against my future husband and me. I pray that we are not deceived by any lies of the enemy from the past, present, and future. I pray that no weapon formed against him and me will prosper. Father God, I thank you for the blood of Jesus that protects us. I rebuke all forms of the enemy that tries to steal, kill and destroy. Thank you, Father God, for your Word and your Truth over our lives. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Romans‬ ‭12:9‬

My steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you. I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings. Protect me from wicked people who attack me, from murderous enemies who surround me. ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭17:5-9‬

Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory. ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭50:15‬

Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:1-5‬

Activation: Listen to a prophetic word you’ve received in the past. Note what stands out to you, particularly in this season.

This prophetic word is from when I visited Bethel and it came from my friend Joy’s friend Savannah. This is what stood out to me after listening to it again.

I am a warrior! I’m a strong woman, determined, passionate, fearless and resilient. Don’t pick a fight with Justine on earth or in the spirit realm because she has a lot of authority. If anything comes against me, I have a voice and I can commission the angels to fight the battle. My voice is meant to influence cities. Because I’m Faithful in one door another door will open for me and another door and another. I have favor with God, but also with man because I have humility in my heart.

Husband Fast Day 3

Day 3: Good Stewards: Pray that you and your future husband are and will be good stewards of all God places in your life. Including, the gifts and talents He’s placed inside of you, as well as being good stewards of all you have on earth.

Before I even read the prayer points this morning, I had prayed at my desk to thank God for all the blessings he has given me, including my job and the opportunities that have always presented itself to better my life on earth and to give back as much as I can. I know that God has given me a spirit of generosity because I love to give. I give because I know God blesses me more and He always provides. I have experienced job loss, but never too long and even when there is worry about finances, I just thank God for always providing exactly what I need all the time.

Father, I thank you for helping me be a good steward of my gifts and talents in my life on this earth, and I thank you for helping me and revealing my talents and gifts that are for the Kingdom. I know that I have a spirit and heart of serving in the church and I know there is plenty more as I become more and more plugged into Your Word and the church. I pray that my future husband is being a good steward in his own life and that he is finding out his talents and gifts that will benefit the Kingdom. I pray that he has a heart of leadership, serving, generosity and giving back to the community. I pray that he is a leader in his workplace and that he continues to move up in his current company and that he thanks You for the opportunities and blessings You’ve given him. I pray that he works hard and always learns new things to move forward his life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. 8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.
10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11

6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24

Husband Fast Day 2

Day 2: Fruits of the Spirit: Pray that both you and your future husband are growing in the fruits of the Spirit. The Word clearly states the fruit would be evident. (Matt 7:18-20)

Scriptures: Matt. 7:18-20, Gal 5:22-23, John 15:22, 1Cor 13:4-7

Father God, thank you for this day as I woke up this morning. I just thank you for all the blessings you’ve given me. I thank you for your love and I praise you and bless you! THANK YOU, FATHER! I pray for my future husband and I that we are both growing in the fruits of the Spirit. I pray that you show him and I the things we need to work on before we can be together. I pray that we continue to want to grow ourselves with the help of You, Father God. I pray that you help us sow good fruit, so we can reap those fruits in our relationships with each other and all the people we come across. I pray for our marriage that it is full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I want it all! I pray that my husband is praying for me too. Father God, I pray that we both are healed from past relationships, and I pray to remove any strongholds. Father God, thank you! I just want to thank you so much for doing a work in me and preparing me for my husband, while you prepare him for me too! I love you Jesus! Thank you!

A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. Matthew 7:18-20

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23

They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. John 15:22

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Activation: Look at yourself in the mirror and declare 3 scriptures over yourself

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.
11 Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:10-12

..to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. Titus 2:5

The Word is powerful! The Word is living! It holds so much wisdom and truth. Sometimes when I don’t feel my best or the enemy is trying to lie to me, scriptures give you control over those feelings. When I declared these 3 scriptures over myself, I feel loved, complete, whole, perfectly made, a Godly woman, a future wife, and future mother that can live holy with God’s grace.

Husband Fast Day 1

Day 1: Healthy Relationships: Pray that you and your future husband have healthy relationships in your life, currently and in the future. Pray for those who will speak truth and life into you (friendships, accountability, and wise counsel).

Scriptures: 1Cor 15:33, Prov. 27:9, 17, Prov. 19:20

Activation:

  1. Pray for your parents’ marriage. If they are not married, pray for each of them individually.
  2. Think about and write down the covenant friendships in your life.

Father God, I thank you for your love, your mercy, and your grace. I thank you for the relationship I have with you, God. I want to pray for my future husband, that you are doing a work in him. I pray that he is safe, I pray that he continually seeks you, I pray for his mind, his heart, and his spirit. I pray that he allows the spirit to lead him in all hours of the day. I pray that you protect his ears and his eyes. I pray that he is surrounded by positive and uplifting family, friends, and coworkers. I pray that he becomes the light and salt of this earth and blesses all that he comes across with. Father God, I pray for our future marriage and relationship. I pray that our relationship is full of love, honesty, communication, loyalty, fun, passion, commitment, humor, protection, and You as our center. I pray that our marriage is a covenant that honors you, Father God. I pray for the relationship to be blessed beyond measures. I just want a marriage that is intentional in communication and transparency. I pray for honesty between husband and wife and that the more we communicate the more our relationship is stronger. I pray for our communication to be open and have a willingness and effort to be one with each other. Thank you, Father. Thank you for doing a work in me and in him. Thank you for preparing me and him to come together in the future as husband and wife.

Father God, I also want to pray for the people who will have Godly-counsel over our lives. I pray that we hear only Godly-wisdom for our future marriage. I pray that he and I will have friendships and accountability partners who will speak truth over us and help us grow with You, Father God. I pray for those who will help us in our relationship that they will only want the best for us.

Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33

The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. Proverbs 27:9

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17

Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life. Proverbs 19:20

Thank you, Father God, for blessing me with a mother that loves and accepts me. Thank you for having a mother that has always been there for me. Father, I pray for her well-being and that she finds peace, joy, love, and freedom. I pray for her health and that you heal her of anything that might be going on her health as she gets older. I pray for financial stability and success. Father God, I pray that maybe one day she will find love again. I pray that she will be able to travel the world and go wherever she pleases. Thank you, Father!

I have a couple covenant friendships in my life that I know I can count on to help me with relationships and accountability. I know that I actually have to be honest in truth if I feel that I am being led by my flesh. If I don’t reach out, I know that I can fall short. I just pray that those friendships have the heart to listen and that they know they can count on me as well. A covenant relationship is when 2 people decide to commit themselves to honor God and help each other to be lead by the spirit and to pray for each other.

Father God…

Father God, I pray for an encounter with You this weekend. I pray for physical healing in my body. I pray for prophecy. I pray for all my sisters on this trip that we all have an encounter with You. I pray for a safe trip on the drive up there to Redding. I pray for love, fun, laughter, joy, peace, and clarity. I pray for togetherness and I pray for fellowship. I pray that we have no worries on this trip about things that are happening at home, work or in our relationships. I pray that on this trip we are mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually in your presence. Father God, I thank you in advance for this trip that has come to fruition by Your doing and that You have made a way for all of us to take this small but significant trip. We come in great expectation for You to meet us individually in an amazing way. We invite the Holy Spirit to surround us all and to fill our hearts, mind, and body. Father God, I love you, I praise you, I honor you, and I worship you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
